Abstract
The primary objective of this research is to investigate how Violence against Women (VAW) contributes to women's marginalization and erasure in Nigerian politics. The relationship between violence against women and their involvement in Nigerian politics is examined. It addresses the idea of VAW and political leadership using a theoretical framework that integrates feminist and cultural theory perspectives on the understanding of violence. In the chosen geopolitical zones, the research identifies instances of VAW in Nigerian politics. It contends that because violence against women hinders women's political engagement, it effectively disenfranchises them from positions of leadership.
